FOSTER CITY, CA—August 31, 2017—Conversica the leader in conversational AI for business, today announced that Dr. Sid J. Reddy has joined the company as Chief Scientist. Reddy is a distinguished academic, noted technical expert, sought-after speaker, and published author in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and computational linguistics.  He will lead Conversica’s growing data science center of excellence. His responsibilities include continued enhancement of the company’s conversational AI platform to be smarter, more accurate, more flexible and more scalable as Conversica continues its accelerated growth.

Reddy comes to Conversica from Microsoft, where he served as Principal Scientist. Prior to Microsoft, Reddy founded an NLP lab at Northwestern University and developed AI solutions at two technology startups and at the Mayo Clinic. A patented inventor and published author with research featured in over 50 peer-reviewed publications and technical conferences, Reddy* is a recognized expert in NLP and computational linguistics who has designed, developed and contributed to dozens of NLP systems used in production in a wide array of use cases and industry verticals, including healthcare, business intelligence, life sciences, legal and e-commerce.
